About
Cloth from named mills. Suits made in our own workshop in Shanghai
Italian Mill Suits is the brand of a made to measure workshop in Shanghai, China, founded in 1996. We cut and sew suits for tailor shops and suit labels, from cloth woven by named mills and merchants.
The name
What "Italian Mill" means here
The name describes the cloth. Many of the mills we buy from are in Italy, and several are in England. Our suits are not made in Italy. We do not weave cloth, and we are not a mill.
Every suit is cut and sewn in our own workshop in Shanghai, China. The label states the country of origin, so your client can read where his suit was made.
We buy cloth as a customer of each mill and merchant. We are not an authorised dealer, licensee or representative of any of them.
The workshop
One workshop, in Shanghai, since 1996
The same workshop makes a single trial suit and a repeat order for a busy label. Orders arrive through one online platform, are cut to each client's measurements, and leave with the buyer's label inside.
The cloth
33 mills and merchants, 26 of them in Europe
We hold two mill books in Shanghai: 162 Zegna styles (99 Trofeo, 63 Traveller) and 40 Vitale Barberis Canonico Four Seasons styles. Other cloth, Loro Piana among it, we order against a confirmed job. We also keep our own house book, Corsini LANA Four Seasons.
Who we work for
Businesses only
We make for tailor shops, suit labels and travelling tailors. They measure the client, choose the cloth and sell the suit under their own name. We make the suit and ship it.
We do not sell suits to individuals. If you want one suit for yourself, a tailor shop near you is the right place to start.
The minimum order is one piece. Production takes 14 days from the confirmed order. Half canvas, full package, starts at 185 USD per two-piece suit, ex works Shanghai.
Next step
Tell us the cloth your client wants
Tell us the mill, the construction and how many suits you sell. We reply with a quote and the next step. One piece is enough to start.
